Towards a Feminist Internet and its Governance in India and Beyond Academic Syllabus

This syllabus, comprising of 15 sessions, was originally created by Radhika Radhakrishnan for the “Gender, Media, Culture” course as part of the M.A. in Women’s Studies programme at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India. It aims to understand the Internet in the context of some current major debates in the social sciences: globalization, democratization, divides in access to information and so on. It provides an overview of the major findings from research on the social implications of the Internet from a feminist framework, and at each point, relates these findings to similar debates in ‘offline’ spaces in the Global South.

Permission is granted to use this document for personal use, for campaigning, training and educational publications, and activities by feminist, peace, environmental, human rights or development organisations.
